Supply List

Small to Medium 140lb.Watercolor Sketchbook- Moleskine, Arches, Strathmore, Canson. There are many different kinds of sketchbooks and different layouts. This will be a learning process so plan on choosing different ones each time, this way you can work in different layouts so you can find which you prefer.

Round Watercolor brushes- #4,#6,#8,#10 one 1"Flat if desired. (buy a few sizes, you don't have to have all of them. Optional: I also like a 1" Black Velvet brush oval, 
Ninji Waterbrush, Large (get 2 if you can)
Mechanical Pencil
Micron Pen or ultra fine permanent pen
Kneaded Eraser
Palette-  A white plastic palette will work but I like something that is closable and will transport if you decide to paint onsite or take to class,on vacation etc. Open palettes are harder to transport but will work at home.
Suggested Paint List:
Reds:
Permanent Alizarin Crimson
Vermillion
Blues:
Cobalt
Phthalo
Ultramarine
Yellow:
New Gamboge
Cadmium Yellow or windsor yellow
Optional but nice to have:
Sap Green
Burnt Sienna
Brown Madder
Quinacridone Gold or Magenta for fun
If you would like to have white- Chinese White Watercolor not Gouche
If you would like to have a black- Neutral Tint

  3. I really doubt the old Moleskine watercolor books were 140 pound paper. The new one's definitely are not.... the label says 200gsm or 135 pound. Maybe that's close enough. Reviews of the new paper are not good, though I've not tried it myself. I'm almost 3 years into my return to paper and paint and STILL haven't picked a favorite sketch book!
